About

At BLK Avenue

We recognize the profound impact early experiences have on shaping a child’s understanding of race and identity.

Research indicates that children begin developing awareness of race from infancy, with racial biases often forming by kindergarten and solidifying by adolescence. This gives parents roughly ten years to influence the learning process, diminish racial bias, and enhance cultural understanding. However, amidst increasing legislative restrictions on discussions around race and diversity in schools, coupled with cuts in funding for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs, it’s imperative to provide resources that empower Black children to see themselves positively reflected in the world. We understand that parenthood is both rewarding and challenging, and we’re here to support you in raising the next generation of confident and compassionate ids. Our aim is to provide you with trustworthy advice and a supportive community, offering up-to-date, accurate, and practical information to lighten your load.
